Harrodsburg, Kentucky supplies the Green Energy program of Louisville
Gas and Electric Company, a regulated utility that serves 318,000
natural gas and 390,000 electric customers in Louisville and 16
surrounding counties, and Kentucky Utilities Company, a regulated
electric utility in Lexington, Kentucky, U.S.A., that serves 518,000
customers in 77 Kentucky counties and five counties in Virginia.
Low Impact Hydro Certification
The Mother Ann Lee Hydroelectric Plant became the first Kentucky hydropower project to be certified as low impact through the Low Impact Hydropower Institute (LIHI) which is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to reducing the impacts of hydropower generation through the certification of hydropower projects that have avoided or reduced their environmental impacts pursuant to the Low Impact Hydropower Institute’s criteria.
